Class Info

Individual

Classes follow a structure but will be adapted to meet the development of your baby and to accommodate for your level of mobility.  In yoga practice we encourage listening to our bodies and working within our limitations.

Bonding

Eye contact, touch and intentional massage are key concepts of baby yoga and baby massage encouraging reciprocal communications.  These concepts have been shown in research to help promote strong healthy bonds.

Healing

The body needs to heal and restore following birth, thats why classes will encompass some postnatal moves to aid relaxation and recovery. This slow and progressive practice will help to close and strengthen the body after birth.

Relaxing

Relaxation is an important element of both classes and helps to ground and give space to the caregiver and promote sleep in babies. The body and mind need to be able to relax and allowing yourself the space to do so can be invaluable.  We must nurture ourselves in order to nurture others.

Development

Touch, song, moves and stretches focus on stimulating the senses to encourage development. In baby yoga the vestibular, proprioception and interception systems are activated frequently throughout the class. You will learn innovative ways of approaching tummy time without the tears.

Philosophy

We do yoga & massage with babies, not too babies.  If your child cries that is perfectly ok, please do not apologise for this. Comfort, feed, change and do whatever your baby needs of you in that moment, there is no pressure in class. The space is safe for children to roam.

What to expect

The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness

Nurturing Baby Massage

Nurturing baby massage is a calm, loving practice rooted in positive, respectful touch. Inspired by the Birthlight approach, it goes beyond simple physical massage and is a two-way conversation between parent and baby that supports emotional attachment, physical well-being, and mutual relaxation.

Alongside massage you will learn methods to hold and soothe your baby, methods to help infant dyschezia and colic and methods to soothe and calm yourself too.

Baby Yoga

Baby yoga is a gentle, nurturing practice that brings together movement, touch, breath and connection to support your baby’s natural development.

Inspired by Birthlight teaching, the sessions use simple, ability appropriate movements, to encourage body awareness, balance, strength and mobility in both parent and baby. We also explore calming practices that support relaxation, focusing on parental wellbeing to promote a good physical and mental postnatal recovery.

At the heart of baby yoga is the relationship between you and your baby. These shared moments of movement, play and relaxation can build confidence, encourage communication and create a deeper sense of connection all while having fun together.
